Our Cosmetic Veneer Process

At LUXE by Avenue Dental, we follow a comprehensive process to ensure outstanding results and patient satisfaction.

1

Free Cosmetic Veneer Consultation

During your initial consultation, our experienced dentists will conduct a thorough evaluation of your smile, discussing your cosmetic goals and desired outcomes. We will consider your facial features, tooth alignment, colour, and other factors to create a customized treatment plan.

2

Treatment Planning

Our skilled dentists will create a personalized treatment plan based on your specific needs and preferences. This includes determining the number of veneers required and discussing the desired shade and shape of your new smile.

3

Preparation and Impression

In preparation for veneer placement, a small amount of enamel is gently removed from the surface of your teeth. This ensures a precise fit for the veneers. Next, our dentists will take a digital scan of your teeth, which will be used by our dental lab to create your custom veneers.

4

Temporary Veneers

While your permanent veneers are being crafted, temporary veneers will be placed to maintain the appearance and functionality of your teeth. These temporaries will give you a preview of your new smile.

5

Veneer Placement

Once your custom veneers are ready, our dentists will carefully bond them to your teeth using high-quality dental adhesive. They will ensure proper fit, alignment, and aesthetics, making any necessary adjustments for a flawless result.

Why Choose Cosmetic Veneers?

Porcelain veneers are a popular cosmetic dentistry solution that can dramatically enhance the appearance of your smile. Here are some key benefits of choosing porcelain veneers:

Porcelain veneers are crafted with exquisite attention to detail and mimic the natural translucency and shine of enamel. They are custom-made to match the color, shape, and size of your natural teeth, resulting in a seamless and radiant smile.

Porcelain veneers can address a wide range of cosmetic concerns, including chipped, stained, misaligned, or unevenly spaced teeth. They can also improve the symmetry and overall harmony of your smile, creating a truly transformative effect.

Porcelain veneers are highly durable and resistant to staining. With proper care and maintenance, they can last for many years, providing you with a beautiful and confident smile for an extended period.

The process of placing porcelain veneers involves minimal alteration of your natural teeth. This means that only a thin layer of enamel is removed to accommodate the veneers, preserving the structural integrity of your teeth.

FAQs About Cosmetic Dentistry Veneers

Cosmetic dentistry veneers have become a popular solution for individuals looking to enhance their smiles. They offer a versatile and effective way to address various dental imperfections. Whether you’re considering veneers for aesthetic reasons or to fix specific dental issues, understanding what they involve is crucial. Below, we address some of the most frequently asked questions about cosmetic dentistry veneers and other cosmetic dentistry services.

Cosmetic dentistry veneers are thin shells made from porcelain or composite resin, custom-designed to fit over the front surface of your teeth. They are used to improve the appearance of teeth by changing their color, shape, size, or length. Veneers are a part of cosmetic dentistry services aimed at enhancing the overall look of your smile.

Veneers is an ideal solution to a range of cosmetic dental issues, which include:

  • Discolored Teeth: Stubborn stains that do not respond to teeth whitening treatments.
  • Worn Down Teeth: Teeth that are worn down due to grinding or other factors.
  • Chipped or Broken Teeth: Veneers can cover and protect teeth with minor cracks or chips.
  • Misaligned or Irregularly Shaped Teeth: Veneers can be used to give teeth a more uniform appearance.
  • Gaps Between Teeth: Veneers can close small gaps between teeth.

The process of getting cosmetic dentistry veneers typically involves the following steps:

  1. FREE Consultation: A process where your dentist will discuss your goals. Your dentist will then evaluate your teeth and determine if veneers are the right option for you.
  2. Treatment Planning: If veneers are suitable for you we will create a personalised treatment plan and smile trial based on your specific goals and desires for your new smile.
  3. Preparation: The dentist will remove a small amount of enamel from the front surface of the teeth to make room for the veneers. Then, your dentist will take a digital scan of your teeth and create the custom veneers.
  4. Temporary Veneers: Temporary veneers will be placed while your permanent ones are being made in a dental lab.
  5. Bonding: Once your custom veneers are ready, your dentist will use a strong adhesive to bond the veneers to your teeth. Any necessary adjustments will be made to ensure a perfect fit.

Veneers are designed to be durable and can last anywhere from 10 to 15 years or longer with proper care. The longevity of your veneers will depend on factors like the material used (porcelain tends to last longer than composite resin), your oral hygiene practices, and habits such as teeth grinding.

Porcelain veneers are highly stain-resistant, meaning they won’t discolor easily from foods, drinks, or smoking. However, composite resin veneers are more prone to staining, although they can be polished and maintained to reduce discoloration. Maintaining a regular oral hygiene routine is essential to keep your veneers looking their best.

While veneers are durable, they can still chip or crack under pressure. If this happens, a veneer can sometimes be repaired, depending on the extent of the damage. In cases of significant damage, the veneer may need to be replaced. It’s important to avoid using your teeth to open packages or chew on hard objects to minimize the risk of damage.

The process of applying veneers is typically not reversible because it involves the removal of enamel from your natural teeth. Once the enamel is removed, it cannot be replaced. If a veneer is damaged or removed, it will need to be replaced to protect the tooth and maintain your smile’s appearance.

Veneers offer a long-lasting solution for many cosmetic issues, but other cosmetic dental services might be more suitable depending on your needs:

  • Teeth Whitening: Ideal for addressing discoloration without altering the structure of your teeth.
  • Bonding: Involves applying a resin material to correct minor imperfections, which is less invasive and usually less expensive than veneers.
  • Orthodontics: If misalignment is your primary concern, braces or clear aligners like Invisalign might be more appropriate.
  • Crowns: For severely damaged or decayed teeth, a crown may be recommended as it covers the entire tooth rather than just the front surface.

Cosmetic dentistry veneers in Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast typically range in price depending on if they are made from composite or porcelain materials. The cost varies depending on the dentist’s expertise, materials used, and the complexity of the procedure. A FREE consultation with LUXE cosmetic dentists can provide a more accurate estimate tailored to your needs and create a flexible and affordable payment plan for cosmetic dental services.

Veneers do not require special care, but maintaining good oral hygiene is essential to preserve their appearance and longevity. This includes:

  • Brushing Twice a Day: Use a non-abrasive toothpaste to prevent scratching the surface of your veneers.
  • Flossing Daily: To remove food particles and plaque between your teeth and along the gum line.
  • Regular Dental Check-Ups: Regular visits to the dentist will help ensure your veneers and overall oral health are maintained.
  • Avoiding Staining Foods and Drinks: Limit your intake of coffee, tea, red wine, and other staining substances to keep your veneers looking bright.

While veneers are suitable for many people, they are not ideal for everyone. Candidates for veneers should have good overall oral health, sufficient enamel on their teeth, and realistic expectations about the results. People with severe tooth decay, gum disease, or those who grind their teeth excessively may not be good candidates for veneers.

It is common to experience some sensitivity to hot or cold temperatures after getting veneers, particularly in the first few days. This is usually temporary and should subside as your teeth adjust. If sensitivity persists or becomes severe, it’s important to contact your dentist for advice.

Unlike natural teeth, veneers cannot be whitened with traditional teeth whitening products. This is why it’s important to choose a shade that you are happy with before the veneers are made. If your veneers become discolored over time, your dentist can polish them to restore their brightness.

Before getting veneers, consider the following:

  • Consultation: A thorough consultation with your dentist will help determine if veneers are right for you and address any concerns or questions you may have.
  • Cost: Veneers are an investment, so consider the financial aspect, including any payment plans or insurance coverage.
  • Long-Term Commitment: Since veneers are not reversible, be sure you are committed to maintaining them for many years.
  • Oral Hygiene: A strong commitment to oral hygiene is necessary to ensure the longevity and appearance of your veneers.

Finding a qualified cosmetic dentist is crucial to achieving the best results with veneers. Look for a dentist who specializes in cosmetic dentistry services and has experience with veneers. You can ask for before-and-after photos of previous patients, read reviews, and seek recommendations from friends or family. A reputable dentist will take the time to understand your goals, provide personalized recommendations, and ensure you are comfortable with the entire process.

What is a veneer?

A veneer is a thin layer of material made from porcelain that is custom-made to fit over the front surface of a tooth. Before crafting the veneer a preparation stage is needed where a small amount of your tooth structure is shaved away so the veneer (once prepared) can slot into place without adding any extra ‘bulk’ to the front surface of the tooth and provide a better platform to adhere too.

Dental veneers are used to improve the appearance of your teeth by sculpting a different shape, colour size or length.
Veneers are custom made for each individual person which makes the process so special 🥹
